Join Volvo’s unique Advanced Apprenticeship Programme, and you’ll find that working for one of the world’s leading car brands offers you a fantastic career opportunity. As a vibrant, forward thinking organisation, Volvo will provide you with the expertise to excel in your chosen field and thrust your career into gear.
If you are interested in cars, you’ll know Volvo already. Since the company was founded, way back in 1927, Volvo has been a by-word for superb construction, advanced technology and pioneering safety features.
In recent years, with the development of cars like the exceptional XC90 4x4 and the stunning new C70 convertible, Volvo has cemented its place as one of the most respected and desired car manufacturers on the road.
The Volvo Advanced Apprenticeship Programme is the only course of its kind in the country. We offer you a fully-structured syllabus, run by our own trainers in our own facilities, at the end of which you will receive valuable respected qualifications.
During the 2005 academic year, we achieved a 100% pass rate, with the majority of graduates still in full-time positions with Volvo dealers across the UK.
So if you have the drive and ambition to make it in this competitive and exciting industry, we can take you as far as you want to go.
You can choose to specialise in one of four disciplines.
· Service Technician
· Body & Paint Technician
· Aftersales Advisor
· Sales Executive
Each offers its own unique challenges and rewards with industry recognised and respected qualifications, including NVQ’s and IMI’s.
Alongside classroom and practical training, you will have the opportunity to test your personal and leadership skills in a variety of exciting activities.
You will acquire skills in all sorts of useful areas, including setting clear and inspiring goals, action planning, values and behaviours, and understanding the characteristics of highly successful teams during outdoor activity days and driving days.
Tim Traher, Volvo Service Technician
The level of training I received was always at a high standard. The training officers are the most dedicated and enthusiastic people and put everything in to the programme. They will make sure that by the end of the course you all pass!!
There is a lot of hard work, time and effort involved, but it is well worth it for the qualifications you’ll receive at the end. It’s great fun as well. The training facility has its own workshop just for apprentices as well as up-to-date cars, engines, gearboxes, etc, to work on. It also has all the tools and equipment you will need.
The programme has team building events too. These can be anything from rally driving to go-karting and even a weekend away at an outward bound camp, all of it was so much fun.
Once you finish the Programme, you could stay as a qualified technician and go no further, or you can be like me and keep on going and learning. I want to be a Master Technician: it has been my goal since I joined the programme and, who knows, maybe one day a training officer.’
